Writing quality is less an issue in quantitative articles than it is for qualitative or mixed methods ones.

Not many people enjoy the process of writing. No one describes it as easy. Some people absolutely hate it and will find any excuse to avoid it. You might say that for them the experience of writing is akin to most people’s reaction to something very sour.

You may find that prioritizing quantitative research as your area of research expertise makes the task of writing more do-able. In a landmark 1994 piece about writing as a process of discovery, American sociologist Laurel Richardson suggests that qualitative articles require good writing because grasping its take-aways requires reading it. The meaning in a quantitative article is carried through tables and figures and the shorthand provided by standardized formats. Text is so secondary in a quantitative article, Richardson asserts, that a reader can get the meaning without reading it! 

The pressure to write well is less intense in a quantitative format. That is good news for the writing averse.
